Clean Energy Connect, Inc. (“CEC”), a provider of green power solutions, today announced that it has joined the “24/7 Carbon-Free Energy Compact,” a global initiative led by the United Nations to advance the adoption of 24/7 carbon-free energy (CFE).
The 24/7 CFE initiative aims to match electricity consumption with 100% carbon-free energy on an hourly basis, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
CEC has been providing renewable electricity and environmental value derived from non-FIT solar power to corporate customers including decarbonization-driven companies and RE100 participants.
Currently, CEC is conducting a demonstration project at “TD Terrace Utsunomiya,” an office building owned by Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company, Limited and The Toho Bank, Ltd., located in Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture. Through an offsite corporate PPA service combining solar power generation and battery storage, CEC is working toward supplying 100% renewable energy to meet the building’s electricity demand on a 24/7 basis.
Through this demonstration, CEC is accumulating expertise in forecasting electricity demand and generation, battery control, hourly matching-based energy tracking, and digital operations powered by its proprietary platform, CEC-Cloud®. These capabilities will support the development of high-value-added services aligned with anticipated revisions to the GHG Protocol and help customers achieve their net-zero goals. Looking ahead, CEC aims to further enhance 24/7 renewable energy utilization by integrating solar power with battery storage, wind power, and building energy management systems (BEMS). By continuing to provide advanced green power solutions, CEC remains committed to supporting customers in achieving decarbonization and RE100 targets while contributing to global challenge towards the climate change.
